How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6013682 / WP9703438 Dryer Drum Support Roller Retaining Ring

Went to this website and looked for possible causes and needed to fix it or buy a new dryer since my wife washes and dries clothes every Friday morning. Watched the repair videos , removed the front cover and discovered that the blower wheel was damaged by a 2 inch wood screw, a dime ,a penny and a butt connector all of which were in the pocket of my work pants. Still haven't figured out how they got past the lint screen. I then ordered a new blower wheel and retaining clip and while I had it apart I decded to install a new tumbler bearing kit. Total cost including two day shipping was $54. A new Maytag dryer would have been about $600. The dryer was back up and runniing before the next Friday wash day. Probably 1.5 hours to disassemble and 2 hours to install the new blower wheel and bearing kit and reassemble. 

My son was able to install the blower wheel within one hour and he is no pro! The greatest amount of time was spent in taking the dryer apart. We were so pleased with your service. Items ordered were received the next day allowing the repair to be made within 24 hours. Many thanks. 

I found your site on the internet, looked at some videos and decided I could do the repairs on my own. So I ordered the parts, they were here in 2 days and I did the repairs. 

I came across this website through a Google search. I was able to order parts that were suggested by typing in my problem on the website. The first suggested repair for the drum support rollers did not work . However, further reading and research on the site directed me to another part to try. (Belt support roller) It worked! My old dryer is now working fantastic! No more squealing! I am so thankful that we could do this repair ourselves and I know we saved a lot of money. 

Replaced Blower Wheel Assembly 

Replaced the broken roller and worn axle. Took me longer to disassemble the dryer than it did to replace the roller(s) and axle. Retaining clips are a pain in the butt if you don't have the proper tools for them.
