How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6009963 / WP61002307 Roller

Bought the replacement Rails a Roller and Screw. 

I ordered the left-hand rail for the drawer, plus the screw and the roller. The “left hand” is determined by opening the frig and peering inward, the rail on the drawer I needed was the one on my left. Pretty obvious until you start to think about it too much! Anyway, I noticed some complaints about the screw being tough to thread into the plastic roller for mounting because it was not “pre-threaded” and because the Phillips head provided was a tough fit for a normal Phillips #2 screwdriver. So I used a regular small drywall screw I had in a junk drawer and gently drove it into the wheel to accomplish a pre threading without stripping the original screw. Once I did this, the factory screw went right in. The whole job took 5 minutes. 

I replaced the rail and the roller. The only difficulty I had was figuring out how to remove the blue clamps on the back wall that held the shelf in place (probably for transit). I used needle nose pliers and to squeeze it and they came right out. Also removing the old rail required that you put a very small flathead screwdriver under a little flange to pop it out. But in general it was a very easy fix. 

Replaced rails and rollers, have to order each item separately, roller did not come with screws, easy fix 

Ordered a new rail with roller and screw. Only problem was they said I hadn't ordered the roller and screw and I thought sure I had. I then had to reorder the roller and screw and pay another shipping fee so it made it a little pricey. The repair itself was easy so it was worth it in the end. 

Ordered rail, roller & screw roller from appliance parts pro. Went to the work and when I came back parts were waiting. No seriously, it wasn't that fast but they arrived super fast like 3 days. The rail slides back so I just tapped it gently to remove it. There's a tiny locking tab that it helps to push in. Assembled the roller and screw roller on the slide. This was the hardest part. The screw hole is NOT pre threaded and the screw roller has a very shallow channel for the Philips screw driver. I had to use a special Philips screwdriver to start the screw roller into the hole and then had to use a small flat head to finish up. You can just feel that the screw wants to go in crooked and crack the brand new rail. It should be pre threaded. After installing the screw & roller, the slide is very easy to reinstall. 

Replaced both tracks and rollers. Works like new and as advertised.
