How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4310501 / 285452A Inlet Hose Screen And Gasket

I watched a video online from your website on how to change the water inlet valve. It looks simple enough, so I did this job myself. The hardest part was popping the control panel off. Those spring clips hold on tight. Before removing the clips that attach to the 4 separate solenoids, I labeled each one with a mark-a-lot, from left to right. Reversing the steps, I put it together again, ran a cleaning cycle, & the machine runs like new again. 

Installed the new filters for the cold and hot water supplies. The code cleared and the washer was back online. 

Replaced fill hose seal/screen. 

Replaced hose and washers. 

Because the new style fill valve is not repairable, I had to replace the complete valve assembly, The fix was fill hose gaskets with screen and replacement of the fill valve assembly. Did I mention I'm 80 years old? Back in "the day" I could have simply taken the old valve apart, removed the blockage, flushed the fill hoses, installed the screened hose washers, at minimal expense. Progress comes with a cost. Not complaining, just observing. I like the new computer controls and all that. 

Replaced the water valve. 

Installed a new fill valve. During repair, found out the drain pump was bad. 

I ordered a new wash plate. It arrived within 2 days and was easy to replace. I will be using Appliance Parts Pros in the future for any other appliance parts that need to be replaced. 

Purchased water inlet valve and new hot and cold water hoses. Unscrewed about 5 screws that were holding the top of the washer in place then slide the top forward and up. Released the control top it popped off no screws. Disconnected the wires attached and unscrewed 2 screws holding the valve in place the popped that off. Popped in a new valve and repeated the process in reverse. Boom done! Very simple works like new! 

Replaced inlet valve control unit and installed screen filter.
