Gary L Atascadero , CA May 27, 2021 Appliance: Whirlpool Microwave, Hood WMH53520CS5 Intermittent starting problem with request to open and close door Flipped the microwave breaker to off (the plug is hidden). Climbed up a footstool to see the screws in the top of the exhaust vent. Took off the exhaust vent (2 screws). Took off the control panel (1screw in top), secured it out of the way with some duct tape. Removed the lower catch and spring (1 screw). Removed the attached plug off the old part (a tiny bit tricky, and broke the old part in the process). Popped it on the new part (clips in very easily). Reinstalled it with the one screw. Mike T Colombus , NE June 16, 2014 Mirowave ran but the magnetron would not funtion Found one of the interlock door switch springs had a crack in it, but was not noticeable. After alittle trial & error found a door switch not fully made. Looked up the whirlpool microwave model number on the computer. Microwave part pictorial sections were shown. Called APPs operator who was very nice & helpful. Correct whirlpool part was ordered & received the NEXT DAY. I am satisfied with quick service & price.The microwave is back in service. Read More...
