How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6007668 / WP3149404 Infinite Switch Top Burner Control Switch

Unplugged stove, removed upper rear sheet metal cover. Replaced Surface unit/infinite switch(s). New units are an exact match. Easy wire trade out. Included wire diagrams were correct. Amperage draw printed on new switches varied by .5 amps with OEM units on my stove, but is not a problem in operation or performance. 

I replaced the "infinite switch," behind the burner dial. I found the replacement part and ordered it from ApplicancePartsPros.com. It arrived in about three days. I watched the video on the Appliance Pros websit and followed instructions: I unplugged the unit, removed six screws (with a power screw driver) holding the back cover plate, removed the connection block and spade-connected wires from the old switch and put them on the posts on the new switch. I pulled off the knob of the old switch, removed two mounting screws, put in the new switch and mounted it with the two screws, removed a spring clip from the stem of the new switch to snap off a piece of the stem to match the depth of the knob, replaced the clip and the knob, replaced the back cover with the six screws, plugged in the stove, and tested it. It took 15 minutes. 

Replaced both of them 

Replaced it with new one. Took only a few minutes. 

Replaced Infinite switch's...The parts were sent out the same day and I received them the next day....Great Customer Service... 

I first watched your video on trouble shooting. Diagnosed a bad element ordered one and replaced the bad one. Stove is working fine. 

Replaced element control switch. 

Called appliance repairman, cost for parts and labor was going to be $240.00 I did it for $37.00. Replace infinite? switch. Took longer to write this review. 

Replaced the control knob switch and now it works fine. 

I removed back and replaced the surface switch and also replaced all four knobs
