My dryer would run but didn’t heat up. The problem was a bad hi-limit thermostat. I replaced the thermostat heater while I was at it, but that part turned out not to be bad. Pretty simple process to replace.
When testing the thermostats with a meter, make sure you are testing for resistance and not just continuity. It’s possible for it to read continuity and still not be in an acceptable range of resistance. If your thermostat is reading more than 1 Ohm, you probably want to replace it. That had me tricked for a while.
