How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6013380 / WP8566184 Dryer Timer

Replaced switch. 

Very Easy! I watched the video after I fixed it. Pretty much the same as the Video. But while I had the back off, I Vacuumed all the dust bunnies. I also took the back off the dryer and cleaned the vents and replaced the dryer vent hose. I think a good clean up will help increase the life of the dryer. Thanks for all the help with the part etc. 

New timer 

What timer has multiple switches on it which caused it to finish off and Buzz. We've been using the dryer for years and I knew it was only a matter of time before something would go wrong. I looked up the model number an ordered the timer. Other than a delay in shipping it worked perfectly in the dryer is back in service working like it was new. 

Diagnosed problem. Used info from your site to find right part, ordered part, and installed it in about 20 minutes. Unplugged dryer. Removed back upper panel, removed screws holding part then unhooked the wires. Next hooked up new part, screwed into place, put panel back on and plugged in. 

Easy fix, perfect. Part saved hundreds $$$ vs. buying a new dryer. 

Replaced with timer purchased from appliance parts pros. 

After googling and finding this site I was able to determine that my timer was bad. The site was VERY easy to navigate and easy fast ordering. Shipping was average. The how to video was awesome and pretty spot on. I was able to do the repair in about 15 minutes. Appliances part pros will be my go to from here on out. Thank you!! 

After checking the fuse, thermostat and push start button (all good) I found that the timer was not showing a complete circuit in the three other modes of drying. I ordered a new timer on Friday at 2:00 pm and included a note stating that if they could get it to me as soon as possible I might be able to get out of the doghouse at home. You know women and their washers and dryers....and some men too! Anyway, much to my surprise, the part arrived at 10:30 Saturday morning...I only paid for 2-3 day shipping. I showed my 14-year-old grandson what to do and he had the new timer installed in about 10 minutes. My wife came home and asked if I'd be able to get the dryer fixed sometime during the day, I told her that her grandson already took care of it. She was happy, I was out of the dog house and the rest of the weekend was great! You guys rock!! I'll never buy anywhere else!!! Brad 

Ordered parts from Appliance Parts, came in few days, got a chance in evening to repair. Tried to get cover off, took two screws off back top, wouldn't come loose. went to YouTube, couldn't find anything on this particular dryer, proceeded to take top off, then seen the two clips that held front of panel down, duh. Rest was easy. Could've opened the paneleith two screws, and a putty knife. Would be nice if Appliance Parts had manuals or videos showing each model.
