Reinhardt S Brookhaven , NY November 18, 2014 Appliance: Model FIGIDAIRE DGILW DRYER Broken belt on the old dryer I replaced the belt. Since it is a bit difficult to pull the dryer out (closet doors must be removed and washing machine pulled out first), I try to check for other things that might need servicing when the dryer is out and open. So, I replaced the belt tensioner/idler pulley too, but did not bother with the drum sliders, which I also purchased, because they appeared to have more life in 'em. I'll save those parts for the next time something breaks on the old (24 years) dryer, which I have repaired many times before in various ways. I guess that when this dryer needs to be replaced, the new one will be beyond my ability, or at least my inclination, to fix. Anyway, right now I need to go put a load of clothes in the dryer... 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours
