Using a thin long shaft slot screwdriver, carefully pry away in the black cowling from the interior face of the door. There are arrow tabs in the white plastic frame. Undo and remove. If grease is present behind the cowling/along the edges, clean/remove.
2 #2 Philips head screws affix the handle to the door. In this instance the handle bits were broken off such that they were still attached to the screws.
Remove the screws whilst holding onto any remaining handle bits.
The handle is indexed with 2 holes that align with the pegs on the door face.
Insert the new handle and use the two screws just removed to affix to the door. The screws will be quite tight -- akin to self tapping screws as they bite into the plastic of the handle.
Replace the cowling by aligning and pressing back into the door -- the "arrow tabs/clips" will grab onto the cowling.
