I was surprised that the element was bad since I replaced it just 4 months ago but my wife said she saw a "spark" and it then quit working. I suspected that the element broke. And indeed it did "break" where the coil came loose from one of the insulator brackets and fell against the chamber - thus the spark that my wife saw resulting in a severed wire between the coils and the connector. On this new installation I was sure to inspect the coil wires for "no tension" with the insulator brackets. Because the wire connectors are needed to be bent slightly to insert into the sockets, one should be sure that they do not create a tension on the insulator bracket when bending the wire to the connector. Lesson learned, otherwise all went well.
