Michael S Archbald , PA March 23, 2018 Appliance: General Electric Electric Dryer DX2300EE1WW Ge Dryer Dx2300ee1ww: Broken heating elements and a bad timer resistor. How to replace Timer Resistor. Thank God for You Tube! That's where I found Appliance Parts Pros. And... That's twice that "theapplianceman" bailed me out with my electric dryer. Probably the best "how-to" videos around. This is the one I watched: www.youtube.com/watch?v=vG6RjciHNuc While watching his video, I was not aware that a heater element kit existed. Of course, I googled it, and wound up here. Purchased the kit, as well as the timer resistor. Had it in TWO days. And my dryer works great! I really don't need to explain the install because the video is all you'll need. I followed his instructions, to the letter, and had zero problems. I've had this dryer apart before, so the install was easy. Even if you're doing this for the first time, just follow along with the video, and be careful with the new coil. As long as you're paying attention, and don't force the coils into their positions, you should have no problems. Pay careful attention when stretching the coils, so as not to stretch them to far. That's probably the hardest part. New insulators come with the kit. I recommend using them, even if the existing ones look ok. They're easy to install. Once everything was in place... Wah-lahhhh. Works like new! And I saved over $100 by doing it myself! Trust me... this job was not tough, by any means. Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours
