If the ice maker was still turning, but not getting water, I would have purchased the more common solution -- the water valve replacement. However, my ice maker did not attempt to turn (or to fill), so I assumed the problem was the ice maker itself. Replacement took less than 5 minutes and only involved loosening two screws. VERY easy, and the new one works perfectly!
