When I realized I had just washed my brand new $500 smart phone I wanted the washer open NOW instead of waiting 5 minutes for it to quit spinning so I yanked the lid up and broke the latch sensor. That didn't make my wife happy at all. I went on the Maytag site and couldn't find the part I needed.
I went on appliancepartspros.com and found the part immediately for much less than I expected. The part came in in just a few days and then it was just a matter of unplugging the old and plugging in the new. Probably a 30 minute job taking off the top and the back access plates, replacing the part, and putting it back together.
