Frank G Morgan Hill , CA July 06, 2019 Appliance: Bosch SHY66C05 UC/14 (FD8301-) Broken latch and on off switch While replacing the broken latch I also noticed the switch tab that holds it into the door was cracked and was falling off the door. Pretty simple repair, removed the screws holding the door front on. Removed the two side screws holding the control panel on. With the latch unplugged bent, the two tabs ( they are on the front side of the panel) removed the latching assembly and reversed the process and securing by bending the tabs back to the original position. The switch was unplugged removed as an assembly by sliding the part up, Make sure to compare the outer plastic clip as the new one was not the same as the old one, after installing with the correct plastic shield (used the old one) which installed in reverse, installed the outer control panel cover and reversed the assembling of the control panel and front cover. Plugged back in, and dishwasher back working again. Total cost about 80 bucks for both parts, would have been cheaper if I would have ordered both parts at the same time and got standard shipping about 16.00 cheaper. Shipping was amazing ordered first part Friday afternoon with 2-day shipping, part was on my doorstep at 9 am Saturday Morning, Second part was ordered on Sunday and showed up Monday mid-morning. All this was faster and cheaper than a service call. 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes
