Replaced lid switch assembly with a new one. The only problem I had was the newly installed switch was in the lid locked position and the lid would not close. As the switch can be manually moved into the locked position it is unsure if it was shipped to me in the locked position or if I moved it myself.
I discovered a white release button to unlock it. The white button was hard to find as it is mostly obscured from sight when in the locked position. I used a plastic toothpick to reach under and depress. The locking mechanism moved quickly and exposed the entire release button.
