I woke up to a cracked microwave door and starting pricing door replacements online (Whirlpool wanted $100 more for the identical OEM part). I was a little nervous thinking about repairing myself originally because I didn't want a problem with leaking microwaves in my kitchen, but I decided to see how difficult it was to remove the old door first before making any purchases. It was so simple, there was only one screw to remove! It's a T-10 Torx screw, I used a ratchet screwdriver with Torx bit so I didn't have to also remove the microwave grill hood which is located just above that screw on my microwave. If you use a straight Torx screwdriver you won't have enough top clearance to remove the screw, thus you need some type of offset screwdriver/ratchet. I found that AppliancePartsPros had a 365-day return policy and that it was an OEM part so I bought the door from them. It arrived only 2 days after I ordered the part (and that was regular standard shipping!), and took me 2 minutes to remove the old door again and then attach the replacement door! It was so easy!! Very important, the new door doesn't come with the screw, so you need to save and re-use the top Torx screw from your current microwave. They do sell the screw online, too, if you lose it or strip it. I'll definitely use AppliancePartsPros in the future because they have quick shipping, OEM parts and a fantastic return policy (but you do pay for return shipping unless it was their fault). Good luck!
