Lift the stove top up. Note/identify wires to original element (ID #s are on the element). Pull wires off the element. Reconnect wires to proper terminals on the replacement element. (Note that the teminal positions on new element were in different positions, and this is why it is neccessary to ID and note the wires before taking them off the old element. Also, due to differences in the replacement element to the original element, the wires would not reach the terminals on the old element. Shifting the mounting clips to a different position allow the terminals to be in a position where all the original wires would reach)
Reattached the stovetop lid, and the elements works fine
