Found repair videos online. Needed to view several videos until I became familiar with how the dryer makes heat and learned the names of the various components and how they operate, how they may fail, how to test if the component has failed, and how to access the component to perform the test. I also made a call to the GE replacement parts number and the representative informed me of the parts which have likely failed and how often each component is the likely cause of the problem. From there I was able to identify the failed part and place the order for the replacement part.
Although the necessary research and troubleshooting involved an investment of my time (after all I had absolutely no familiarity with this) once the replacement part was in my possession, the process to finish the repair was quick, easy and successful.
