Ashby W S Sandpoint , ID February 28, 2016 Clothes dryer stopped heating Looked at how-to video at Appliancepartspros.com. Took back off dryer thinking I needed to replace heating element. Found loose thermostat wire that had corroded. Spade connector on wire fell off. Stripped wire of insulation and steel-wooled the exposed wires. Replaced spade connector. Found out thermostat connection had broken loose. Tried to order a replacement thermostat online but had to get into chat mode with Appliancepartspros.com salesman in order to identify the right thermostat. At his request I emailed front, back, and side view photos of thermostat to him. He found the right thermostat, which I ordered. After receiving order in mail (which was quick), I found that the new thermostat with three rather than two connections required replacing the male with a female spade connector on the other wire. Put it all back together and it worked. My wife was very happy. 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes
