This is a relatively easy repair.
Here are detailed instruction to replace the Control Panel.
Tools Required: #15 and #20 Torx drivers. (Power tools not recommended)
THE INNER SHELL DOES NOT HAVE TO BE COMPLETELY REMOVED
There are 10 perimeter screws that secure the inner shell (#15) to the outer shell and six screws, three on each side (#20). Two of these screws secure the Controller Bracket and 4 that secure the spring loaded hinge to the inner shell. These six screws don't have to be removed. One interior screw (#20) that secures the Control Panel to the Control Bracket.
1. Turn off power to the dishwasher.
2. Open the door all the way and remove the 10 perimeter screws
3. Close the door half way and separate the inner shell from the outer shell. There should be enough room to access the harness plug and the interior screw. If not, gently pry the two apart so there's enough room for your #20 Torx driver,
4. Unplug the harness and remove the interior screw. (Centered just below the Control Panel). Remove the Control Panel.
5. Remove the pull handle from the old Control Panel and install it into the new one.
6. Attach the new Control Panel to the inner shell with the four screws previously removed. Reinstall the inner screw and install the harness plug.
7. With one hand, pull up on the outer shell from the bottom so the shell slides into Control Panel and is flush.
8. While holding the outer shell in place, install the top right and left perimeter screws. You can now open the door all the way.
9. Install the remaining perimeter screws top to bottom.
10. Turn on power to dishwasher.
