Since I had no idea how to fix it or what was wrong, I opened it up and started blindly replacing parts until I replaced the right one. I also lost one of the screws and had to send a picture of the right screw to appliancepartspros and after a week they matched it. I was really impressed and they were really nice. The real problem was, that it is a KitchenAid cooktop but all the parts in it are GE and so none of the parts if you ordered by model number
