Huseyin K Auburn , AL October 27, 2014 Two of the ignition electrode was not working and the torx screws holding the burner assembly were rusted so badly they are broken during dissassembly I have tried to remove the burner assemblies by removing the torx screws but they were badly rusted, and unfortunately they all were broken during removal. I just discarded the ruined orifices and assembled the new orifices and burner assembly. Lyle S Lanark , IL December 14, 2014 Appliance: Whirlpool Free Standing Gas Range SF362LXST0 Igniter quit working on a top burner on a whirlpool gas range It would have been nice to have a repair manual to show how things are held together. After figuring out that the knob cover had to come off, 3 screws held it on, to access 2 screws that had to come out before the top of the range would hinge open, it was a piece of cake. Everything I found on the internet said that the top would hinge open by prying it up at the front corners with a screw driver, not the case. I had to take a gas line apart that held the burner assembly in so I could get a screw out that twisted off and also get at the screw that holds the igniter in place. The spade connector came apart using a pair of needle nose pliers. Putting it all back together went very well. Carlos B Austin , TX January 28, 2017 Igniter was dead My stove is probably 15 years old and when I was removing the screws that hold the burner in place on top of the stove top, both of them broke off so I had to replace the entire assembly. APP had all the parts I needed and were helpful on the phone. However when I was attempting to loosen the gas line to the burner the tubing wouldn't release from the brass nut and the tubing twisted too much. Even though it didn't appear broken I wasn't comfortable knowing the metal was surely weakened so I had to order replacement tubing as well. That was my fault as my hand was blocking my view of the part that of the tube that was twisting. If I had seen that happening I probably could have prevented the additional damage Read More... 12 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers
John B Buford , GA December 01, 2018 Appliance: Whirlpool Gas Cooktop SCS3014LB02 A burner would not ignite electronically I decided to replace the whole orifice instead of just the 'spark plug'. In doing so it became apparent that the screws would not come off easily and so I purchased a couple of those to make sure I had enough just in case. Good thing, 2 were messed up taking them out. It was also pretty dirty after 13 years of cooking so I took the time to clean up most of the bits. It was a difficult thing to do and took me a while to get thru all the screws in correct order to remove the part and replace. I would say it was a difficulty of 8 out of 10 for someone who does not do this often and doesn't have all the star screw drivers etc. Read More... 7 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours Tools: Screwdrivers, Wrench Set
Christopher A North Bellmore , NY November 07, 2016 Gas burner would not ignite Like many others, the screws holding in this burner assembly were completely ceased. I had to drill them out, and it was difficult. Below the assembly was so rusted, there is nothing left to screw into. Great parts, perfect fit, poor design on Jenn-Air's part. An obvious flaw and without replacing the sub parts that this assembly to screws into there is no way to hold down this part. Great parts, great service, rapid delivery....bad stove....bad bad stove with some major design flaws.
