The drawer has a mechanism on the outside of the metal rails (one per side) that allows you to fully slide the drawer out of the freezer.
After doing that, I unscrewed the rails, tossed the old ones, clicked the new ones in place, screwed the metal rails back on and slid them back into the rails attached on the freezer side of the drawer slides.
If it sounds difficult, it really isn’t.
