Sarahmae W Grovetown , GA June 24, 2015 I had damaged to cooktop and needed to replace it (rental property) i didn't want to pay for a whole new range It was super simple. I found a YouTube video that walked me through removing the front plate that secures the cooktop in place, then raising the top (like the hood of a car) to remove the burner panels (2 screws on each assembly...2 burner assemblies), then lowering the top and sliding it off of the range. Replacing, same process, reverse order. Couldn't have been easier. If you have a screwdriver and something you can use to prop up the cooktop with (yardstick is too long...a stick about 18"-2' long works better), you can do this job. 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes
