Bought new damper suspension rods, watched the video for replacement guidance, and, voila, it works. I needed a philips head screwdriver and a thin blade scraper to get the top off. Make sure you disconnect the hoses and unplug. No tools were needed to replace the rods, they're just pull up and lift out. I did buy some lithium grease in a squeeze tube to put on the rod ends where they support the washer drum, like the video showed. All for around $80, rods and grease. Earned many husband points.
