Sean G Horsham , PA October 10, 2016 Appliance: Samsung Washer WA422PRHDWR/AA-0001 Dc error code Samsung top load washer, about 3 years old started throwing a DC error code more and more often. Initially started with large loads. Wash would get to spin cycle, start wobbling all over the place, stop and refill then try again. Eventually it would stop and throw the DC code. As time went on, the size of the loads got smaller and smaller. Research here indicated that suspension rods probably need replacing. I bought 4 rods for replacement for about $90 in total inc. tax & shipping. Replacement was simple, just follow the video instructions. Only problem I had was the rear right side rod - the one that has the tubes attached. The tubes were not only clipped into place, but wrapped around the rod and also taped together. Had to break the tape in order to snake the rod through. I also found that rod harder to remove. All the other rods came out easily as the bushings came out as I pulled the rods. The bushing on this rod, however, did not want to easily lift out of place. The rod had grease on it so I used pliers to grip it and lift up with one hand and a flat head screwdriver in the other to lift the bushing out of place. Would have been simple with a helper, but harder by yourself in a cramped space. After replacing suspension rods there was an immediately noticeable difference. Prior to replacement, I could push the drum down with my hand easily. After replacement, drum was firm. Ran a load of towels on rinse and spin, and at first it seemed that the problem was MORE pronounced. I decided to run it just as a normal wash and it ran fine. So it might have needed a run to calibrate itself. I've since run several large loads that would have given me problems before without any issue. Seems fixed. Still disappointed that the machine only lasted 3 years before such an important part failed. Jason D Glenville , NY October 18, 2017 Appliance: Model WA5451ANW/XAA 02 "DC error code on Samsung washer / off balance. We were getting more and more unbalanced loads in the washer with the "dc" error code so after searching online we found the fix. 1) While waiting for your parts to be delivered, unplug the washer. 2) Detach the control panel with 2 Phillips head screws. 3) Disconnect the 2 quick disconnect wire harnesses. 4) This is the most difficult portion of this whole job. With a putty knife or other thin metal spatula, work around the seam of the top of the washer and use it to press in on the retaining clips. Use another non metallic object to support the lid as you free the remaining clips. If a clip pops off, use a magnet to retrieve it. You will have to get a pair of pliers to squeeze the clip enough to put it back in place. 5) Get something to support the lid as you lift it like a 2 x 4 (I used a PVC tube that I had laying around). 6) Once you get the parts, you are going to remove then replace each rod ONE BY ONE. Do not remove all of them and then try to install all of the new ones. 7) Lift up on the support rod until it clears the upper mount. 8) Lower the rod until it clears the lower mount. 9) Wipe off any old silicone grease if you can reach it. 10) Before installing the new braces, apply a liberal amount of silicone grease to the mating surfaces of the rod end where they will meet the mounts. 11) Move the lower end of the new suspension rod into place then lift up and put the upper end into place. 12) Repeat steps 7-11 for the remaining support rods. Note: One of the rods, usually the right rear rod, has either a clip for the water line or the water line is wrapped around that rod. Just be aware that it is there and put it back the way you found it. 13) Remove the the object you used to support the lid and lower the lid until the retaining clips engage. 14) Set the control panel back into place and reconnect the 2 quick disconnect wire harnesses. 15) Install the 2 Phillips head screws you removed previously. 16) Plug in your washer and run a load of laundry through it. Note: These new rods will raise up the wash basin significantly. If you have a light load, it may run into the bleach dispenser during the initial sensing phase of the wash. Once the basin fills with water however, the basin will lower, clearing the bleach dispenser, and it will work fine. Roger K Villa Ridge , MO March 27, 2015 Appliance: Samsung Washer WA400PJHDWR/AA-0001 Dc error code thanks to every other review on this site! Replaced all 4 suspension rods. Washer would hit the 21 minute mark and would restart the entire cycle. We would change it to spin cycle. Spin cycle starts at 12 minutes, it would run until the 9 minute mark then it would restart at 17 minutes. Im glad I found this site full of other reviews. The existing suspension rods looked perfectly fine even after removal. The new ones fixed it! Very easy to do! Philip W Fort Smith , AR June 06, 2015 Appliance: Samsung Washer WA400PJHDWR/AA-0001 Wash machine going off balance for no apparent reason I called a repairman out for a diagnosis on problem. He said suspension rods were bad. Machine was never taken apart in any way as I was in a room close by and never heard any noises other than small talk as there were 2 guys. About 15 minutes later I was told suspension rods were bad so apparently they knew of the problem right away. I paid my $44 service charge and then was told it would about $300 for necessary repairs. I began a search and ran across ur web site and on line video on how to replace suspension rods in a Samsung washing machine. I knew then I could do the work myself. Order parts from Appliancepartspros.com and had the parts in 2 days. Made the repair myself and saved tons of money. Excellent company and video really helped in making me aware of how easy the repair was.
