Brian S Austin , TX December 03, 2016 E1 f6 error code I watched the repair video on this site to get a basic understanding of the process of replacing the motor. Really the most difficult part was getting the machine out of my laundry room. Once I had it open with access to the defective motor it took less than 30 minutes to remove and replace with the new one. **IMPORTANT** For my particular washer (Maytag 3000) there are 'kill switches' on the bottom of both sides of the machine (for safety?) which will prevent testing the new motor with the panels off the machine. You must assemble the the panels on both sides prior to testing (the panels depress the switches). Otherwise, it will throw another error code which is misleading. 7 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes
