Replaced the sump assembly, and while doing that, also replaced the circulation pump and heater.
Generally speaking the unit was fairly easy to disassemble and work on.. I'd suggest taking a photo of the wiring connections before taking everything apart.
After doing the work, I fired up the machine.. and no leaks.. great, but I got an e25 error.
Solution was to understand and realize that the new sump pump housing did not come wth the drain pump cover.
The drain pump cover is required for the drain pump to work.
The drain pump cover needed to be transferred from the old sump housing to the new sump housing... that was not initially evident.
Now all is well, dishwasher is running like a champ.
