William R Saint Johns , FL June 20, 2016 Appliance: Whirlpool Electric Dryer WED9750WW0 Whirlpool Dryer Wed9750ww0: F01 code on a whirlpool dryer. How to replace Control Board. I may be your biggest fan after my recent DIY repair experience. Our dryer was not starting and showing a F01 code. After a quick internet search I determined it was related to a control board failure. After some additional research I found AppliancePartsPro.com and was able to find an exact match for my dryer model. I purchased the control board and waited anxiously for it to arrive. It arrived as promised and now it was up to me to do the rest. Let me continue by saying I have very little mechanical skills. I can change the oil and the air filters in my car, but that's about it so I was very leery of trying to repair my dryer. AppliancePartsPro,com has YouTube videos showing you exactly how to do it. After watching the video twice, I set off to conquer my own dryer. CAUTION - MAKE SURE YOU UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE STARTING! The only tool I used was a socket for the machine screws. Three screws to get the top of the dryer off, two more to get the control board bracket off and one more to the get the control board off the bracket. After that, it was simply a matter of unplugging wires but make sure you take a LOT of pictures to make sure you get the wires back exactly the way that they came out. Also, make sure you depress all of the latches on the connects before pulling them out. Study them closely and you will see the latches on the connectors, it is usually just a simple squeeze to unhook the latch. Once I got the old board out, I simply reversed the process, referencing my pictures to make sure it went back in exactly the same way. IT WAS REALLY THAT SIMPLE! I am thankful that AppliancePartsPro.com was so helpful with the information provided that allowed me to do the replacement myself.
