Whirlpool Duet front load washer stopped working with F6E2 error code and a subtle burning plastic smell. We were about ready to “throw in the towel” on this 10-year-old washer but I wanted to look into a fix if it was simple. We thought about calling a service tech but didn't want to spend a couple hundred $ on having them diagnose a $200-300 part. I remembered appliancepartspros video repairs from a pump I replaced on this same washer a couple of years ago. So I looked at their parts for my model and read several other customers' reviews/problems/error codes and realized it was probably my MCU board that went out causing the error code. I watched the video on replacing it and sure enough, the old board had a scorch mark on it. I ordered the new board, received it in 3 days, installed it, and was up and running within minutes. Thank you appliancepartspros for doing videos on these VERY SIMPLE repairs!!
