Ordered agitator. Removed old agitator by prying up one side of the agitator and then moving the agitator around in a circle while prying up a little at a time because the clips pop off underneath separately and once a few of them come loose the remaining slide off making a clean removal rather than the "jerking-straight-up-and-into-your-face-and-neck-disaster-waiting-to -happen removal". Cleaned salt buildup from using brand name household detergent for the last 4 months (currently in rental while building, so temporarily off of grey water system).I normally use Oasis laundry detergent. Oasis laundry detergent not only cleans clothes but literally eliminates and cleans the salt residue build up that the brand name household detergent manufacturers use. Seriously, the wash machine looks new when I use Oasis, and I have been using Oasis for 4 years. Before Oasis the washer would stink after some time (obviously) and would need to be taken apart and cleaned. With Oasis I took it apart to clean it for regular maintenance (yearly or so) and it was spotless! Anyway, after cleaning the salt build up from the brand name household detergent that I have been using for the last 4 months, I replaced the agitator and started another load of laundry. To replace the agitator, line up the 4 long grooves the "agitator holder thingy" inside the wash machine. Then turn the agitator itself upside down and look at the same 4 groove lines and line those up using fingers. Turn the agitator right side up and slowly place the agitator on the holder matching up the long groove lines and voila! Slides right on with a little pop as the agitator meets its coupling and snaps into place. Done.
