James Y Muncy , PA November 11, 2014 Appliance: Model MAYTAG CRG9700BAW Flame was appearing around the edge of the sealed burner I replaced the burner head. I turned off power to the stove, although I did not turn off the gas. I gave the old burner head a slight twist counter-clockwise until it lifted off the stove. I used the pliers to pull the wires from the old burner, then placed them onto the contacts on the new burner. Set it in place, and gave it a clockwise twist until it was snug. This stove originally came with gaskets beneath the burners, but the info for the replacement part stated that a gasket was not necessary, and indeed it is not. The burner is now working properly. For what it's worth, I completed my order about 3 or 4 PM on a Thursday afternoon; the FedEx driver delivered the package before 8 AM the next day, Friday. I didn't need the burner that quickly, but all the same the service was quite impressive. 23 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes
