First a word about the Service. APP.com shipped the flapper assembly very quickly, the other part I ordered (condenser fan motor) is still on backorder.
The problem I had with this repair is making it harder than it needed to be. My fridge is a built-in GE Monogram with wooden panels. I removed the panels to get at the flapper, probably didn't have to do that. The entire "ice/water dispenser unit" was wrapped with insulation which was held in place by masking tape! (Really GE?) after I finally got access to the flapper, all went well and the installation was a breeze. Seems to be working, still not making as much ice as it used to, so I'm waiting on the Condenser Fan Motor to see if that is the final fix.
This is the third time I've used this company and I am very impressed with them.
