I checked continuity on the thermostat and it was closed at room temperature when it should be open. I ordered a new one from AppliancePartsPros and I hope it solves the problem. Since the icing sometimes doesn't start for weeks after thawing and deicing the freezer, it's too early to tell if the problem is fixed.
