Replaced the cold control and defrost timer for good measure, wasn’t too bad the hardest part was trying to reuse the plastic tube that slides over the cold control probe without crimping or bending it. I think the Cold control was the real culprit but since I am in there might as well replace defrost timer too. All seems to be back to normal now. Saved hundreds on buying a new fridge for my mom.
