After much research on the root causes of the outage and the particulars of accessing the internal components of the microwave, I chose to maximize the repair success by ordering all of the parts which have been known to fail: magnetron, capacitor, diode, thermal fuse. Upon replacing all of these components, the microwave is again fully functional.
