Determined via internet search that problem was most likely a door switch. Accesses the switches (for this unit needed to take off the cover and release the control panel, non-trivial). In taking the switches out of the board latch - cracked it. Plastic was very brittle, no matter how careful I was did not seem any way to avoid this. Ordered new switch for lowest switch (continuity checked, but seemed on/off switch response wasn't good). Replaced lower switch and new board latch (better quality latch, some flex allowed for replacement of switches without cracking it). Also, heated up the board latch when putting switches in a little to ensure some flex. Put it all back together and all is working.
