Pulled the cooktop straight out from the counter. Removed five screws in the front and five in the back. Removed the knobs. Lifted the glass top. Removed the four (sleeved) wires from the old element, one at a time, and inserted in the new element. Put the top back, put the screws and and dropped the cooktop back in the kitchen counter.
But, my true reason for writing is to compliment the excellent service I received from this vendor. I placed the order one day and the very same day, I got a message "shipped AS PROMISED". That was just outstanding!!! I received the part in a couple of days. Like most of internet saavy buyers, I did shop around. I found a different seller with the same part priced at about $6 less. I checked the reviews and found out that the other vendor, after you place the order, would send an e-mail asking the customer to call them because of extra shipping charges that applied to the order. If you don't check your e-mail regulary then you would lose a few days waiting like a fool. If you call them, they would be adamant about the extra charges and the only choice the customer will have will be either to pay extra shipping charges or cancel the order. I had experienced that once before, and I did not want to experience that again. AppliancePartsPros.com provided the service they promised and I'm definitely pleased with the INTEGRITY aspect of this transaction. Kudos to AppliancePartsPros.
