Dryer would not heat, and when operated there would be a slight odor of natural gas. Being that this was my first rodeo, I was sure the problem was the ignitor. I went ahead and ordered the ignitor. While waiting on the ignitor to arrive, I took the dryer apart to access the ignitor. The ignitor tested ok, as well as the flame sensor and high limit switches, The high limit switch at the dryer vent exhaust was cracked. This is the one with the reset button. I replaced it with one purchased at a local parts store. After putting everything back together, the dryer worked. Everything back to normal. Actually, I still am not sure what fixed the dryer, but it works! YMMV.
