A) Flipped the breaker
B) Snapped a picture for wire placement reference.
C) Removed the two screws securing the heating element.
D) Slid the assembly down and out.
E) Detached three wires.
F) Checked continuity:
1)Thermal fuse
2)Thermostat
3)Heating Element
While the Heating Element looked fine, it did not have continuity end to end. Ordered the Heating Element, which arrived in 48 hours and the dryer was functional in less than 30 minutes after the box arrived. All these operations were performed through the access panel on the front of my Amana. Cutting the power at the breaker eliminated the need to move the unit to unplug it, making things even easier!
