I replaced the ice maker. I had previously replaced the water inlet valve, so assumed this time it was a faulty ice maker...and I was right. Very easy to remove the old icemaker from my Maytag freezer - three screws and a wire harness connection. I'm glad I watched a video on replacing the ice maker, so I would know to keep three parts from the old ice maker: the front cap, the wire harness, and the on/off arm.
