Whirlpool Conquest GS6SHEXML00 side by side stopped making ice. Followed several YouTube videos to easily remove and disconnect the unit. Also, attempted to initiate each of the Harvest Mode and the Water Valve Solenoid tests via the Jumper techniques shown in the videos. Neither worked. So, I ordered the replacement unit. It arrived the next day via FedEx! Installed it in less than 5 minutes.The plastic base plate from the original unit needs to be installed on the new unit and involves three 1/4" hex head fasteners. All is back to normal.The new unit also remedied the curious issue which, began about a year ago, where icicles would form at the front edge of the icemaker, apparently as a result of the filling sensor degrading.
