At the beginning I did not really know how the unit attached or if I would have to revert to ice trays and purchase another refrigerator sooner than I expected. I went to the AppliancePartsPros website to see what could be done. Having no one to question and never having seen an icemaker replaced,and with only the identifying model numbers etc I found a full page of parts and a video of replacing the icemaker. My icemaker replacement was much more difficult than shown in the video due to the bottom freezer access not being the side-by side unit, in the video; .Although the access and visibility were exasperating, I now have a functioning icemaker. yea!
