Ice maker stopped working and gave no indication of what the cause might be. Prior to ordering any parts or service, I checked the bale switch position, the door switch, the water line, and even thawed the freezer out for two days; unfortunately none of that fixed my issue. I decided to replace the ice maker to see if this would fix it. I received my replacement ice maker quickly and was able to install it even quicker - only three screws!
BOTTOM FREEZER REPAIR TIP: The only challenging part of this repair was being on the floor and working around the freezer drawer slides as I was too lazy/stubborn and didn't remove the freezer door (4 screws) so that it would be easier to install the ice maker. If you remove the freezer door, it might be easier for you to access the freezer to replace the ice maker. Not a must, but might help make the process easier and less frustrating. Either way - you got this!
