Lawrence C Sparks , NV February 07, 2016 Appliance: Model THERMADOR SGCS365RS Inop range potentiometer Lifted off grates, caps and knobs. Loosened large brass nuts/cylinders using an adjustable crescent wrench. Twisted them off by hand. Tilted the front edge of the range up six inches and propped it up with a block of wood. Lifted off the old potentiometer's plastic dust shield and lifted the old potentiometer off the valve shaft. Disconnected its wire connector fitting and connected the fitting to the new potentiometer. Reinstalled everything in the reverse order. Note, when the wire connector is disconnected, sparking popping is intermediately heard but this immediately ceased when the new potentiometer is connected so it may have been wiser to unplug the range first before doing any of this task. 3 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes
