Ordered a new latch from you. I used a pair of needle nose pliers and carefully worked the broken one out. A little twisting and pulling trying not to distort the metal housing worked fine. I looked at your video after I had finished and I am glad I did! I don't think I would have attempted all that was involved in your suggested repair.
