Outer basket had a lot of rust on the lip at the top of the basket, I ordered tub gasket, but when I removed the old gasket, some of the lip broke off, leaving gaps at the top, went to the hardware store, and purchased thin sheet of 8x10" aluminum, cut and shaped pieces from this sheet, to fit under the damaged lip, to bridge the gaps, rounded edges to fit against the rounded part of the outer tub, under the lip, once shaped, I glued them in place with emblem adhesive, did this all the way around the broken parts of the lip, let glue setup for 24 hours, then I filled it in on the top of the lip with JB weld compound, allowed this to set for 24 hours, then used a fine sanding sponge to smooth out the top, so I could put the new gasket on, this worked, but you may have to try the washer a few times, and check for leaks, if their our small leaks, go back and put more JB weld in spots and sand off, before it can be completely stopped, what I did to check for pin holes in the basket, is to have the room dark, and with a good bright flashlight , shine it on the inside of the basket, while looking on the other side, if their is a hole, you will see the light shine through it, hope this is helpful.
