Do-It-Yourself Story

Followed the great video on this site to remove the control board. Originally I tried to replace some of the chips on the control board (I'm an electrical engineer, and was able to source the components), but that didn't help. I suspect that the custom LED segments may have burned out, or some other component was damaged. Replacement took 5 minutes, and everything works as it should now. The only issue is that the two screws the the top of the control board were difficult to access because the Robertson (square) screwdrivers that I had were to thick to insert between the slot opening. Bad access design.
