Did research and found that the rotor position sensor can go bad and cause the LE error on LG front loading washers. Decided to purchase this part for $30 rather than spend hundreds on a repair person coming out. SO GLAD I DID!
It was a very easy fix, took about 15 minutes to replace and now our washer is functioning perfectly again!
