Whirlpool Microwave Wmh73l20as1 / : The light in my over the range microwave was blown it turned out that the socket and light were originally made together so needed to replace both. How to replace Microwave Light Socket.

I ordered both the socket (or receptacle) that the bulb fit into as well as the replacement bulb. Fortunately, the replacement socket accepts a screw-in type bulb so in the future this will be an easier repair. I can't imagine what Whirlpool designers were thinking when they originally put in a socket and bulb which were made together. This was a hard fix with an installed microwave over the range.
